TRA, the Transport Research Arena, is the foremost European transport research event that covers all transport modes and all aspects of mobility. In 2028, the transport Research Arena will take place in Milan, Italy.
The TRA 2028 conference will provide a continuous arena for researchers, industry, policymakers and other relevant stakeholders to share new ideas, exchange information, knowledge, scientific results and best practices and set the basis for the future of mobility. Focusing on the three necessities of the European Competitiveness Compass (innovation, decarbonisation, reducing dependencies), the TRA 2028 conference will contribute to: 1. Supporting the development and deployment of innovative solutions in Europe and Associated Countries within the mobility sector; 2. Making the European Union and its green policies more relevant at political and strategic level in the transport sector; 3. Increasing the attractiveness of transport related studies; 4. Increasing Europe’s competitiveness in the transport sector.
The TRA 2028 project aims to support the organisation of both the TRA conference and TRA VISIONS Awards in Milan, in 2028. TRA Visions Awards celebrate innovation and research excellence in the European transport sector since 2014.
TRA 2028 will exhibit three innovative activities: 1. Focus on the regional perspective of mobility issues; 2.promotion of start-ups (by means of a dedicated contest); 3. triple helix approach.
