ECTRI congratulates Mihail Savrasov for this election as the new Rector of ECTRI Member Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI). He will succeed former Rector Juris Kanels at the beginning of May. His election was officialised by the TSI Constitutional Assembly on March 17, 2026.
Incoming Rector Mihails Savrasovs previously held the position of Faculty Dean and Head of the Research and Development Department at TSI. Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, he has over 20 years of experience in research and academia and currently leads the Applied Modelling Laboratory (SimLab) and the research cluster “Modelling-Based Systems Analysis and Design” (MADSYS).
ECTRI wishes him every success to his mission of advancing the TSI strategy and reinforcing its academic excellence, research performance, and international collaborations.
