Join us at TRB Annual Meeting 2026

ECTRI is delighted to announce its participation in the 105th Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting (TRBAM), taking place in Washington, D.C. from January 11-15, 2026.

Through its MoU with Transportation Research Board, ECTRI intends to foster international research collaboration and knowledge exchange. A mission supported by the recent nomination of ECTRI Secretary General Caroline Alméras as vice-chair of new TRB Executive Subcommittee on International Activities, along with the nominations of ECTRI President Ingrid Skogsmo as MoU Liaison and Maria BOILE (from ECTRI Member CERTH) as Liaison for the TRB Marine Group.

Covering all fields of transport research, 115 researchers from 13 ECTRI Members will take part in the TRBAM programme and will present their research work. With the Conference approaching, we would like to highlight some events where ECTRI delegates will be present:

Sunday January 11
TRB Reception for International VIPs (6:30pm-7:30pm ET, upon invitation)
International Networking Reception hosted by International Association of Transportation Regulators and supported by ECTRI (7:30pm-9:30pm ET, upon invitation).

Monday January 12
International Activities Executive Subcommittee meeting (8am-12pm ET). A workshop will be organised on “Autonomous and Connected Mobility: Technology, Regulations, and Deployment,” in which George Yannis will present a CCAM Policy Support Tool developed in two flagship Horizon Europe projects involving ECTRI Members: Levitate and SHOW. The presentation will be titled: “Connected and Automated Transport Systems Policy Support Tool”.

Wednesday January 14
TRB Executive Committee Reception (6pm-7:30pm ET, upon invitation)

TRB AM will also be the occasion to promote the TRA2026 Conference to the US community. TRA 2026, taking place in May 18-21 2026 in Budapest, will be presented through:
– A stand in TRB exhibit area, hosted by Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. – Hungarian Public Roads.
– A business breakfast organized, on Tuesday 13, by the Ambassador of Hungary in the United States.
– A presentation to the International Executive Subcommittee.
