From research agendas to consortia-building: ECTRI thematic groups meet in Brussels

On 28 January, ECTRI brought together its five thematic groups (TGs) – Mobility, Freight and Logistics, Economics and Policy, Safety, and Traffic Management and Modelling – for a joint meeting in Brussels.

As ECTRI’s research workforce, the TGs play a central role in shaping the association’s scientific priorities and collaborative activities. The meeting agenda was structured around three core objectives:

  • defining research topics for advising EC policies and programmes
  • increasing participation in Horizon Europe projects through joint project preparation and consortia
  • building fostering networking and scientific exchange.

The joint format sparked dynamic discussions across thematic areas and reinforced cross-TG collaboration, particularly in view of upcoming Horizon Europe calls.

Many thanks to all TG members who contributed to the discussions and helped foster collaboration across different areas of expertise. A special thank you to the TGs leadership teams and ECTRI Board coaches for their continued commitment and guidance.
