ECTRI, together with ALICE TP, EARPA, ERTICO, EUPAVE, FEHRL, FIA, IRU, POLIS, and UITP, is pleased to support the ERTRAC position paper on the future of road transport research in the new EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (Horizon Europe 2028-2034) and the European Competitiveness Fund.
In this position paper, ERTRAC and all supporters call for:
✔️ Dedicated space secured for Road Transport Research in the upcoming Horizon Europe Programme 2028-2034
✔️ Continuation of collaborative research for road transport research needs, in complementarity with the setup of a Joint Undertaking to support R&I in the automotive sector
✔️ Coherent funding coordination between R&D under Horizon Europe and market implementation under the European Competitiveness Fund
✔️ A System approach, encompassing all elements of the road transport system, embodied throughout the future Automotive Joint Undertaking and Horizon Europe 2028-2034
