ECTRI joins the 9th Road Transport Research (RTR) 2026 Conference 

On February 10-12, ECTRI and many of its Members participated to the RTR Conference in Brussels. As a unique window into EU-wide road transport research, RTR2026 brought together over 1000 participants, in 32 sessions, to discuss the latest achievements of nearly 100 European projects, and their benefits for the environment, economy and European society overall.

22 ECTRI Members are currently engaged in 64 projects which were presented, and coordinate 12 of those.

Several sessions were moderated by ECTRI Members on different topics:

  • ECTRI President Ingrid Skogsmo, Chair of CCAM Cluster 6 and Senior Research Leader at VTI, Session “Socio-economic engagement of users and citizens in CCAM and knowledge sharing” 
  • Franziska Schmidt from Université Gustave Eiffel, Session “Smart enforcement for resilient, sustainable and more efficient transport operations”
  • Dimitris Milakis, Vice-chair of CCAM Cluster 6 and Senior Researcher at DLR, Session “Passenger experience, inclusiveness and safety” 
  • Serge van Dam from KIM, Session “CCAM services integration into traffic infrastructure and Water Management”
  • Julian Schindler from DLR, Session “Physical and digital CCAM infrastructure,”.

As a member of ERTRAC, 2Zero and CCAM, ECTRI together with its Members will continue to put efforts in further developing Europe’s road transport research and innovation ecosystem into a competitive, digitally and sustainability-driven landscape.
