TRB 92nd Annual Meeting

Washington, D.C., USA – January 13-17, 2013

In the frame of the ECTRI-TRB MoU, ECTRI actively contributed by organizing a number of sessions, giving a European flavor to the 92nd TRB Annual meeting.

The ECTRI/TRB Action plan, which implements the ECTRI/TRB MoU was reviewed on January 15 at the occasion of session presided by ECTRI President, G. Giannopoulos, HIT. The meeting concentrated on the EUTRAIN project progress report, the ECTRI Scanning Tour 2013 in the US and the Young Researchers Seminar 2013.

The EUTRAIN project was an important element of the ECTRI activity at TRB. On January 13, C. Alméras presented the project results to the International Activities Committee. On January 14, G. Giannopoulos gave the presentation ‘Themes and priorities for international transport research cooperative work: results of the global EUTRAIN project workshops’ at the occasion of the International Research Collaboration and Coordination session.

On January 12, A. Dupont-Kieffer, Ifsttar, presided the Scientific and Planning Committee meeting for the 5th International Conference on Women’s Issues in Transporation (WIIt) to take place on April 14-16, 2013 in Paris. The WIIT Conference is supported by ECTRI and Prof. Neil Paulley, ECTRI Vice-President, is member of the Scientific Committee as ECTRI representative. On January 13, A. Aparicio, UPM presided the Workshop ‘Future of Low-Cost Interregional Passenger Mobility In North America and Europe.
