ITF 2023 Summit

The 2023 Summit took place from 24 to 26 May 2023 in Leipzig, Germany, under the theme “Transport Enabling Sustainable Economies”.

For the first time, as part of the main programme, the “Research in Focus sessions” reinforce the objective of supporting policy makers to plan their actions for the coming years, with knowledge and insights from researchers, and complementing the core sessions.

As part of the cooperation with ITF, ECTRI, TRB, the European Commission and WCTRS organised three sessions, under the theme of the Summit:

  • Wednesday, May 24: “How to design safe and equitable transport systems to give access to all?” with Prof. George Yannis, NTUA as speaker.
  • Thursday, May 25: What are the costs of greening and adapting transport?

  • Friday, May 26: “How to plan for sustainable and efficient urban logistics systems” with Karolina Isaksson, VTI as a speaker

Furthermore, the ECTRI community was also represented by Ingrid Skogsmo, VTI and ECTRI President, who participated in the debate at the Open Stage Café on Making Research Count in Transport Policy (May 24) and Caroline Alméras, ECTRI Secretary General.
