ITF 2016 Summit

The ITF’s 2016 Summit on Green and Inclusive Transport took place on 18- 20 May 2016. The event explored the importance of low-carbon transport as an essential element in the transition to a green growth economy as well as the changes needed to make transport more inclusive and provide access for everyone to jobs, public services, and other opportunities.

ECTRI is a long-time partner of ITF and as in previous years participated to the ITF’s 2016 consultation with international organisations on February 17, 2016 in Paris. The annual Consultation Day is an important opportunity for the ITF and its stakeholders to engage in a dialogue around the main themes of the ITF Summits.

At the 2016 ITF Summit, ECTRI was represented by its President, Secretary-General and several Members representatives.

The ITF Decarbonising Project was officially launched at ITF’s 2016 Summit. ECTRI is involved in the initiative as knowledge partner and contributed to main research themes of the project in accordance to competence of the ECTRI Members. This is a major global initiative to trace a commonly-acceptable pathway to achieve zero transport emissions by around 2050.  More info on the project: ITF Decarbonising Project
