ECTRI’s outgoing Board hands over the helm

After two activity-rich years, the outgoing Board held its last meeting on January 20, handing over ECTRI’s steering wheel to the new elected Board.  

Among some of the successful initiatives to report are:

  • Support to the Ukrainian’s scientific community via Members co-finance mechanisms
  • Three new Members joining the association: University of Oulu (FI), University College Dublin (IE) and Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences (HR), 
  • Approval of Implementation Plan and updated of internal rules for execution of new ECTRI Strategy 2021-2030
  • Renewal of the Memoranda of Understanding with US-TRB and AET
  • Publication of the position paper “Greening and Digitalisation of Transport” (March 2022) and reply to 11 EC transport policy’ consultations
  • Active contributions in transport ETPs (ALICE, ERTRAC, WATERBORNE TP) & European Partnerships’ activities (CCAM, 2ZERO, ZEWT)
  • Involvements in Horizon 2020 (BE OPEN, TRA 2022 and TRA VISIONS 2022) and new Horizon Europe project (TRA 2024)

The outgoing President Evangelos Bekiaris thanks the outgoing members and the Secretariat team for the great collaboration and achievements over the last years, and wishes the new elected President and Board the best of success.

The next two years are expected to be exciting, with many activities in the horizon. Priorities will be further drawn at the next Board meeting scheduled on February 23rd. Keep an eye out on the news to come.
