The Hague, the National Institute for Coastal and Marine Management (RWS RIKZ)

As a part of the Rijkswaterstaat, the National Institute for Coastal and Marine Management (RWS RIKZ) is a supplier for information, services and advice for the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, with emphasis on:
- The protection of land against tidal flooding and
- Sustainable use of coasts and seas.

For this purpose, RWS RIKZ organized knowledge and informationstructures.

RWS RIKZ aims its activities at all Dutch salt and brackish waters including the coast. As one of the six specialist services of the Directorate General of Public Works and Water Management, the RWS RIKZ is the main supplier of knowledge on any subject concerning the sustained use of estuaries, coasts and seas and flood protection.
