The presentation will highlight how the MOB can enable advanced modelbuilding in safety research and allow for high-quality quantitative impact assessments in road safety with many potential applications. DESCRIPTION:Presentation of the Webinar: \nTitle: Waterborne public transport: A feasibility study on agent-based simulation and CBA readiness\, by Henrik Sjöstrand\, Senior Analyst at the Department of Transport Economics at the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI)\, Stockholm\, Sweden. \nAbstract: The feasibility study further develops and applies the WUM (Waterborne Urban Mobility) agent-based model in MATSim to analyze two novel electric ferry concepts in Stockholm\, where Candela’s boats use hydrofoiling technology. The results show increased peak-hour demand but also capacity challenges. Resilience is playing an increasingly important role in investments in transport infrastructure due to the disruptions in the past\, such as COVID and blockages of important maritime routes\, and current geopolitical developments. In order to guarantee the security of goods supply in the event of emergencies\, adjustments to supply chains are needed\, as are future investments in infrastructure.
