SUMMARY:BE OPEN Kickoff Meeting
DESCRIPTION:BE OPEN “European forum and oBsErvatory for OPEN science in transport”\nThe project aims to create a common understanding on the practical impact of Open Science and to identify and put in place the mechanisms to make it a reality in transport research. Achieving Open Access to publications\, making their underlying data FAIR (Findable\, Accessible\, Interoperable\, Reusable) and open where possible\, and using open and collaborative processes and infrastructure via the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) will be key factors in making transportation researchers share-reuse-reproduce science and in bringing such a critical sector closer to the society for enabling open innovation and citizen science. \nOpenness\, transparency\, fairness\, reproducibility of science are key aspects around which BE OPEN will seek to establish the ground rules for the  transport research communities\, ultimately establishing a community of transport research organizations willing to work on the basis of a commonly agreed “Open Science Code of Conduct”. \nTo this end\, BE OPEN has brought on board key transport and open science related communities in a two-fold action plan: to engage them in a participatory approach fostering a dialogue on Open Science (what exists\, what should be done\, how it should be done) among relevant stakeholders in Europe and around the world\, and develop a detailed roadmap for the implementation of sustainable open science modules which include key practices\, infrastructures\, policies and business models\, all taking into account the specificities of the transport research domain\, and the use and integration of existing infrastructures and the emerging EOSC initiative. \nPartners: (17) HIT-CERTH (Coordinator)\, ECTRI\, EURNEX\, SCIPEDIA\, KONNEKT\, UITP\, OSBORNE CLARKE\, NTUA\, HUMANIST\, TOI\, DLR\, VDI/VDE\, FITCONSULTING\, EATEO\, WEGEMT\, UOA\, FEHRL

SUMMARY:CLORA Horizon Europe - Décryptage
DESCRIPTION:Journée Thématique  \n “Pilier III Horizon Europe / Quelle Innovation ?”

SUMMARY:1st Expert Workshop of the infra4Dfuture project
DESCRIPTION:The objective of this first i4Df Expert Workshop is to fix\, develop and describe the innovation focus areas for a common vision on road and rail infrastructure innovation and implementation needs until 2040. The Expert Workshop will build on the outcomes and results of the first i4Df Stakeholder Conference held in Brussels on 11 December. The innovation focus areas are highly important to setting the direction of cooperation\, both from a multi-modal as well as from a cross-border perspective. This common vision will set a reference base for the further activities of the i4Df initiative and its subsequent engagement with relevant stakeholders from public\, industry\, and research. More details of the i4Df approach and the expected impact can be found on www.i4df.eu. \nThe first i4Df Expert Workshop will take place at the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) in Bergisch Gladbach\, Germany (www.bast.de)\, starting on Monday\, 25 February 2019 at 11:00 CET and ending on Tuesday\, 26 February 2019\, 15:00 CET. The aim of the workshop is to develop the innovation focus areas in three parallel sessions dedicated to the following transport infrastructure capabilities: \n\nInfrastructure optimally meeting end-user needs: The ability to provide the optimal transport infrastructure network capacity and to accommodate ever increasing transport needs\, balancing cost\, performance\, and risk\, delivering infrastructure as a service to society.\nInfrastructure meeting environmental and social sustainability needs: The ability to embed transport infrastructure networks in their immediate surroundings\, optimally balancing interests from economy\, society\, and environment.\nInfrastructure achieving added value from digitalisation: The ability to harvest the benefits from digitalisation in the own\, internal processes of transport infrastructure management (e.g. planning\, design\, construction\, operation\, end-of-life) as well as in the relation between transport infrastructure management and its end-user (smart mobility and logistical services\, individual end-users).\n\nThe discussion will also take into account the professional competences matching the future infrastructure capabilities and the necessary development of human resources that allow a proper use and implementation of innovations. \nThe updated description of the infrastructure innovation focus areas for 2040 will serve as guidance for further corresponding main topics for programming. Subsequently\, these will be input to the second i4Df Stakeholder Conference in May 2019. \n

SUMMARY:2019 ITF Summit "Transport Connectivity for Regional Integration"
DESCRIPTION:The Annual Summit of the International Transport Forum is the premier global transport policy event. Since 2008\, the Summit brings together ministers from around the world to share policy perspectives with CEOs\, heads of international organisations\, thought leaders from civil society and academia\, and media. \nTransport Connectivity for Regional Integration\nAround the globe\, between countries\, from city to city\, or to the other side of town\, good transport infrastructure and efficient mobility services bring people together and goods to their markets. The connectivity that transport provides widens horizons and opens up opportunities. It builds stronger communities and expands their reach. It strengthens our economies and helps our societies to prosper. \nThe 2019 ITF Summit will explore how better transport connectivity can help integrate regions – from local communities and cities to global regions – and enable the achievement of economic\, social\, and environmental goals. \nHow can more seamless connections enhance door to door travel? Where can we build bridges\, real and metaphorical\, for better cross-border mobility? What will connect better institutions\, so they can function in a more integrated way?
