SUMMARY:ECTRI TG Freight and Logistics webinar #11
DESCRIPTION:Presentation from the webinar: \nTransport chain emission calculation and the new ISO 14083  by Verena Ehrler (Uni Eiffel). \nIn order to improve the sustainability of transport chains\, a standard approach for their emission calculation is required as basis for meaningful comparissons – between different chains\, over time\, or over networks.\nInitiated by ECTRI TG freight and logistics\, the COFRET (Carbon Footprint of Freight Transport) project was launched in 2011. This was followed-up by the Smart Freight Centre-led LEARN (Logistics Emissions Accounting and Reduction Network) project and finally led to the current works on ISO 14083. In the webinar the development towards the norm\, its structure and an oulook beyond ISO 14083 will be shared. \nSeminars are opened to any ECTRI Member. Please contact the Secretariat if you are interested: https://www.ectri.org/contact/ \nTime event is presented in Central European Time (CET).

SUMMARY:ECTRI TG Mobility Webinar #3 – Teleworking: the Good\, the Bad and the Ugly
DESCRIPTION:Teleworking: the Good\, the Bad and the Ugly \nThe pandemic has brought a dramatic increase in teleworking frequency and digital skills that no planned measure would ever have been able to achieve in this time and dimension. But what are the lasting consequences of this shift? Is it actually possible to significantly reduce carbon emissions by increasing teleworking? Or are we just shifting trips to other purposes\, for example leisure trips to get out more often when we don’t go to work? And what about unintended side effects\, like the growing number of commuters giving up their annual passes for public transport\, because they do not need them for just two work trips per week? \nClemens Brauer (Fraunhofer ISI) shared the insights from several studies. \nSeminars are open to the ECTRI Members.\nPlease contact the Secretariat if you are interested to join: www.ectri.org/contact/ \nTime event is presented in Central European Time (CET).

SUMMARY:ECTRI TG Freight and Logistics webinar #12
DESCRIPTION:Presentation from the webinar: \nAn Adaptive Multi-Criteria Hybrid DEA approach to upgrade an existing Bike-Sharing System with electric bikes: The case of Ljubljana City Center\nAn E-Bike Sharing System (e-BSS) solves many of the shortcomings of BSSs – long distances\, hilly terrain\, are more convenient for the elderly and those with health problems – but requires large financial investments in e-bikes\, charging stations\, and\, if available\, battery replacement\, compared to BSSs. We present a sustainable and targeted extension of the existing BSS with e-bikes and charging points. The BSS in the selected urban area is divided into subsets and sub-areas using the de Voronoi diagram and predefined landmarks. Then\, the integrated Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach\, supported by a comprehensive criteria system\, is used to evaluate the suitability of existing bike-sharing stations for upgrading with e-bikes and charging piles. A defined criteria system considers the requirements of all stakeholders\, the characteristics and needs of e-BSSs\, and important sustainability dimensions. Finally\, super-efficiency Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is used to rank optimal bike-sharing candidate stations in order to upgrade only the most suitable ones and not all stations in case of limited financial resources. The aggregation of AHP and DEA allows decision-makers to evaluate the whole process and highlight the relationship between the criteria score and the users of the selected landmark\, which further strengthens sustainability. Testing the proposed algorithm in the Ljubljana city centre confirms that different upgrade options of BSS\, depending on the considered landmark\, exist and are relevant. \nSpeakers: Patricija Bajec & Danijela-Tuljak Suban \nSeminars are open to the ECTRI Members.\nPlease contact the Secretariat if you are interested to join: www.ectri.org/contact/ \nTime event is presented in Central European Time (CET).
