ECTRI replies to the public consultation on the Future of the European Automotive Industry

The European Commission has launched a strategic dialogue on the automotive industry’s future, with an Action Plan to present by March 2025.

Currently, the automotive sector plays a vital role in European wealth, supporting over 13 million jobs and contributing approximately €1 trillion to European GDP. The consultations seek insights from stakeholders across the industry, national authorities, transport, energy, and digital operators, infrastructure users, and seek input on additional themes to consider for the upcoming EU industrial Action Plan.

ECTRI welcomes the opportunity to contribute to this initiative and believes that focusing on mobility transformation, investing in technology research infrastructure, and considering social effects of the sector are crucial to advance the automotive industry in the right direction.
