ECTRI contributes to the revision of the Directive on Intelligent Transport Systems

ECTRI welcomes the opportunity to share its feedbacks on possible measures and potential impacts of a revision of the ITS Directive, in the frame of the European Commission public consultation launched in November 2020 and closed on February 2, 2021.

ECTRI considers that the future transport system will be highly integrated. If such systems are developed without cross-border alignment, major problems in terms of interoperability and user-friendliness will be faced (European Railway system is an exemple). Thus, for ITS development, ECTRI deems that binding recommendations are needed to ensure sustainable, inclusive and multimodal mobility of passengers and goods across Europe.
