The YRS 2011 took place in Copenhagen, Denmark on 8-10 June 2011.

The Winner of ECTRI -FEHRL-FERSI Young Research Seminar held on June 8 to 10, 2011 at DTU in Copenhagen, Denmark are:

- Best paper and presentation: Judith Princeton, Ifsttar (France) - 'The impact of traffic management operations on motorway congestion. A level of service based evaluation method'.
- First runner-up: Emil Drápela, CDV (Czech Republic) - 'Geographical location of depopulation areas in the Czech Republic and its dependence on transport infrastructure'.
- Second runner-up: Liva Abele, DTU-Transport (Denmark) - 'The Relationship between Road Design and Driving Behavior: a Simulator Study'.

Access to the YRS11 papers and presentations.

This seminar offers the opportunity to extend the network of young transport researchers belonging to ECTRI, FEHRL and FERSI members and from TRB. Moreover young researchers are able to improve their presentation skills in written and oral scientific communication by tutorial means and on a retroactive basis.

Therefore, this conference is not only aims at scientific excellence, but also at presentation skills and the ability to put science into practice.

Transport Research Domains

The seminar focused on following research domains:
- Transport economics, policy and transport behaviour
- Transport sustainability and environment
- Transport safety
- Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) & Traffic
- Transport Civil and Road Engineering

Please note that only abstracts from young researchers coming from ECTRI, FEHRL and FERSI member institutes as well as from TRB will be accepted.  

Target group

YRS 2011 is meant for young researchers working at institutes belonging to ECTRI, FEHRL and FERSI and from TRB. They are preferably post doctorates (less than 5 years working experience) and their work field covers one of the research areas.

Attention will be put on ensuring a balanced representation among the institutes.
